Dr.Pak Ming Fan (Leo)
Dr. Fan received his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degree in 2024 in Computer Science and Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). At HKUST, he conducted research on improving education through extended reality (XR) technologies and explored innovative approaches to enhance design thinking education. He also contributed to the development of advanced learning experiences on Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platforms. During his doctoral studies, he worked on applying XR to enhance STEAM education experiences, bridging educational technology and STEAM applications.
At present, Dr. Fan is continuing his research in the interdisciplinary areas of XR and healthcare education. His research interests include immersive learning systems, educational technology, and human-computer interaction. His research direction includes XR-enhanced surgical planning, experiential learning environments, and intelligent MOOC systems.
